M3 to GTR
So just for some context I have a 2015 M3 I bought the car from auction and it was a salvage which I fixed and got to a rebuilt title back in December. Originally I wanted to keep my car for 2 years and then trade it in for a GTR or similar car like the first gen R8. I was recently in contact with a dealership near me with a 2014 GTR with a rebuilt title as well. I'm not sure if I want to either the two years and pure turbo swap my F80 or trade her in for the rebuilt. I know some people hate that idea of a rebuilt car but I've dealt with them I know what to look for GTR owners are clearly on crack cocaine from Colombia with how much they are asking on the private market and have noticed the price of GTRs and JDM icons ie supra nsx etc start to rise and makes me think that in two years the prices of GTRs will rise up in the upper 80s-100ks. Wanted to hear anybody's input as to what I should do wait and turbo upgrade my car and hope that I can get something in the future and my cars value not drop drastically or switch as GTR gold values better and their options on the cars themselves.

What are your plans for the car? Street racer, drag, both? The 2 cars you are comparing aren't on the same planet. If you want some extra comfort and happy in the 450-550 Hp range, do the Beemer. If you looking to smoke mother fuckers and beat everything on the road, grab the King and Buy the GTR. I bought my GTR for 1 thing. Not for Looks or comfort. I wanted something that was going to be balls fast, reliable ( once built ) and different. You do see any on the road. M3/4 are a dime a dozen. Still love my F-82

Seriously doubt the R35 will hold any candles to the iconic 90's/2000's era of JDM.
It'll always fetch a good price sure, due to its brute performance. But it's not a looker like previous models. As for low volume salvage cars go, my salvaged nsx I built from the ground up went for almost 40k after I crashed it in it's wrecked and torn down state... |

The looser part of the GTR for me is the external body looks and the weight. The power plant & drivetrain is a work horse and the interior is quite nice.... I struggle with the looks of the car. Big, fat and down right ugly like a fast n furious car. But..... I still think about owning one if I was in that market.
The F82 is kinda like the best of all world wrapped up in one. Not king in any one thing but near the top in all |
