Noticeably louder road noise after lowering and alignment

Has anyone experienced this? If so, did you find a cause and solution?

I installed H&R springs and then had an alignment done (along with new Richland forged wheels installed) and immediately noticed a drastic increase in tire road noise. I know these cars are noisy stock but the road noise has increased significantly.

Could it be the toe?

Unlikely, so probably a fitment issue.

What about the fitment could cause this?

The fitment looks good to me.

The fitment issue - if the cause - would relate to the H&R springs rather than the geo setup. HTH

it could just be down to different harmonics from the new wheels and the now lower position putting them closer to the cabin

If you have some pictures of the spring installation front and rear on both sides it should be quickly possible to rule that out as a possible problem.

Several people on here (including me) managed to misinterpret the fitting instructions for the M Performance Suspension, and BMW once managed to fit the Works suspension to a mini I owned without some of the parts that went between the springs and the front struts, so...

i have the same issues, i use the ohlins dfv suspension and ps4s tire. i set it lower 10mm than the stock suspension, the road noise bother me like 2 years, I recently changed to new ps4s tires and i noticed that noise is less, but still have noise. so i think you can try to use new tires if the new tire no help you can try to do the road force balance for your wheel and tire .
