2015 m4 battery failure

I have 15 f82 that has had code for battery replacement for a few months. Until recently had no issues other than intermittent ci engine light. Recently would not start. Successfully jumped and restarted. Took to dealer who read code and advised battery replacement. $1650 for part. I know this is li battery so expensive. Some questions

Anyone know where I can get a better price on li battery?

Failure seems premature at 60k miles six years. Any thoughts on potential cause for early failure and potential underlying cause that could repeat after replacement.

Check this thread out. Had my battery go out a few months ago and have been running one of these and its been flawless. Save some money too.

Have u tried putting on a trickle charge? Had this happen to me also / need a lipo specific charger…

I have not. But this car has been used routinely not sitting. After a four hour road trip and parking overnight would not start the next morning but started with jump. This has happened only once. Codes include under voltage and battery switch open (relay that opens on low voltage). Maybe I should try the li charger?

Thank you. Looks like this battery is around 1000 vs 1700 for oem part.
