Would new Xenon Ballast affect Adaptive Headlights?

Hello. Apols in advance if this question has been raised and answered before. If so, I couldn't find it. I have an '08 335ix. The drivers side low beam went out. Wasn't the bulb, so replaced the ballast (non OEM) and it works now. However, not long after, I got a Adaptive Headlight malfunction. I tried changing the drivers side control unit (again, non OEM) but didn't work. I then swapped with the passengers side control unit, but still didn't work. Wondering if the new ballast is causing this and the Adaptive HL control units are fine, or something else? Even though the new ballast worked right away, would I have still needed to have it coded for it not to be affecting the Adaptive HLs? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

Yeah you are going to have to code them in but once you do that everything should be fine

Happened to me with non-adaptive but self leveling xenon. Last week replaced the ballast with a used genuine one and although it worked, the self leveling function stop working and the lights aimed all the way down.
INPA showed 9CB6 FRM error code: Headlight beam height control coil break

I still haven't found a solution

I would be willing to bet that you have a wire that has developed some kind of break in it. Id recommend removing the bumper to remove the headlight affected and opening up the rear panel on the headlight to examine all the wires that go to the motor inside the headlight.

Thanks for the input.
That's a good point. I haven't opened it up again after ballast replacement. Will do it on the weekend and see if I find something.
