I’m running into an issue with Digital Key Plus on my 2025 BMW X1 xDrive25e and wanted to see if anyone has found a solution.

Apple Watch unlocks the car only when I hold it near the door handle (NFC). No walk-up unlock / passive entry at all...
Feels like the Watch is being treated as a basic Digital Key instead of Digital Key Plus.

Important context:
  • Passive entry with the Apple Watch was working correctly before
  • Around February, I performed a full iPhone reset (restore from backup) and also updated to iOS 26.3
  • I only noticed the issue a few weeks later, so I can’t pinpoint exactly which of these (if any) triggered the problem.
  • iPhone proximity works flawlessly → UWB in car is fine
  • Only the Watch lacks passive entry.
  • The iPhone is a 15Pro, and the apple watch is an ultra 3.

What I’ve already tried:
  • Deleted and re-added Digital Key (iPhone + Watch + car)
  • Restarted iPhone and Apple Watch
  • Ensured Express Mode is ON
  • Switched BMW primary driver (created second user → switched back)

Has anyone run into this problem or found a fix?

I’ve not heard the system say anything about them where I know for sure they are. I thought a recall when I was in the trial it alerting of upcoming cameras out loud when I was approaching one.
Should there be a verbal announcement as I recall or perhaps it only a visual alert on the drivers screen I should be looking at.

Maybe there’s a setting I forgot to reset to enable it? "The expanded range of functions of the Park Assist in your BMW improves parking space recognition"..."The function will be available shortly after the update".

I don't see any changes in behavior/settings/options.

Anybody who does know what the details are?

A week into owning my X1, I am experiencing what I believe to be a software glitch. While attempting to park this morning at work, I hit the park button and received a black screen that stated "Camera Failure". I turned the vehicle on and off 3 times, and then finally it worked.

Is this a common glitch still? I saw some older posts where others have been experiencing it, but I was hoping it would be fixed by now. Has anyone else received this message? If so, what did you do to fix it?

Also, I've seen a lot of posts about rebooting the system. How exactly do I do that? I am wondering if that needs to be done. I am really hoping this isn't the start of issues to come - uggggh!:mad0260:

from the first page when I pull it up, i cannot see anywhere where it shows mileage for that trip... or the other trips so far for the month... i maybe panicking as i just discovered it n-o-w...

But where is it? the following are 3 shots of the first page when you pull it up on the phone and the final pic is that of clicking on the 'fuel panel' to get to the subscreen *which just seems to repeat how much fuel is left and the remaining travel range...

sorry, did not know how to make the image smaller when it posted- so it will JUMP out at YOU! (move away 1 foot more from the screen if seeing on desktop monitor like I am)

all of a sudden, I felt a little vibration in the steering wheel and it pulled to the left, forcing the car to cross the double yellow lines. I pulled it back in a hurry and the rest of the drive was uneventful.

when I got to my destination, my first thought was to check the tires, in case one went flat or something. Nope... all were the correct pressure, according to the TPMPS and my tire gauge.

That road is very congested during rush hour. I just got lucky that it occurred around 11AM when there were no other cars. I could have easily hit an on-coming car after the front of my car crossed the yellow lines.

This is the first time I've encountered something like this. I don’t plan on doing it myself, but I recently noticed the “Car Wash” setting and it got me thinking. I’m not sure what else it would really be intended for aside from an automatic wash.

I’ll admit, the convenience is tempting, but I’m also aware of the potential for paint damage over time. Curious to hear your experiences, especially since it seems like BMW designed the feature with that use in mind.

Every once in a while, some of my SXM presets would just delete themselves; and the order of terrestrial radio presets and SXM presets would change order. Sometimes I would go 6 months without any issue; sometimes 2 weeks.

On Saturday, ALL of my SXM presets vanished. I was still connected to SXM--I could change the source to SXM and listen. I renewed my subscription on April 1st, but my presets were still there for the 1st 10 days of April. Then, Saturday morning, I get in the car to head out on a road trip, and the only presets are FM stations--all SXM stations are gone. I thought maybe if I just let the car sit overnight, they'll reset and come back, but that didn't happen. I had to manually add them all back.

In order to confirm that the valve flap opened up, I got under the back of the car and I did feel the exhaust gas coming out of the right side.
