Think about it logically.


Carbon deposits and dirt are bound tight to the metal finish.

You need abrasion/mechanical work to remove those deposits as no real cleaner is going to get at them off the bat but can help with an abrasive brush or pad. A polish would be abrasive and work well, as would a wool pad.

Once you get some abrasion, then you could use a cleaner to loosen up some of the deposits and decrease the damage yo do to your metal finish.

So make it two step.
