First, you know you can buy tires, right? Something like a Pirelli P7 A/S run under $200/ea for an RFT.
Second, the 8s does help with acceleration, but the additional torque of the N20 over the older N52 of the E82 128i also helps. A manual F30 328i is also a good bit quicker than the manual E90 328i that preceded it.
