Its the tradeoff you make to get a softer compound that sticks better. In my experience, most of the complaints about having to replace RFT on shorter intervals were because the tires either wore unevenly and caused significant noise or they were damaged by a pothole. RFT seem to have more of a propensity to do both, unfortunately.

Agreed, summers wear faster no doubt, and interesting info about RFTs (although I've not experienced these problems). In my experience w RFTs, having had two Bimmers w them, both sets were Bridgestones A/S and had a mere 35-38K on them at end of lease and were at or near the min acceptable standard... that seems like poor wear to me for an A/S?
