Yeah I sure hope so too. I think BMW just misjudged owner reaction to seeing anything but middle of the dial. In all of BMW’s testing I’m sure they have this engine running at the targeted oil temp during normal driving. However, it’s apparent BMW missed the boat in the cooling department when it comes to extended aggressive driving such as track work.

I know some people have had problems with cooling on the track. My car has been fine on the track so far.
