The fact that they said the 17" would fit honestly leads me to question their information even more because I cannot imagine it would actually work. I would be more inclined to believe them if they said 18" ok 17" no way. So take that information for what it's worth. If you already own them though no reason not to try and see before getting something else. If you do a test fit please let us know.
