Yeah, different drivers and different conditions can make a big difference in the quarter mile times. I think where the Panamera has the advantage is the AWD. You really have to get used to losing the back end on the M5 and develop a fairly nimble touch to avoid it or correct for it when it inevitably happens if you like getting on it.
