Yes buying a year old used car is tricky because there is so much room in negotiations on a new car (as much as 14%) that you can end up getting a new car for the same amount someone may be asking for a used one. Options play a big role as well. Would I rather buy a used car with 10k miles that has the executive package and let's say headlight package or should I just get a new one with zero miles but without those two options? For me it's a no brainer to go for the second option.
