Andrew, seems short sighted of BMW... Some of the offers I have had are frankly derisory. I can get at least €10k more in value from independents. What's your experience with 330e? On the basis that the forthcoming 530e should in theory be priced similar to a 520d I took the three out for a spin. Not quite as powerful as my 530 but pretty useful none the less. I do a 40km each way run a couple of times a week so I imagine I could do that pretty efficiently; pottering around town should be almost entirely electric but I'd do longer runs a few times a month which would be petrol powered I guess. [ QUOTE=andrew520d;21221639]I traded my 520d in 2015 for a x5 and bought a 330e last year as well so not in the market for a g30 as of yet but was invited to the launch and spoke to the sales guys at it.
They told me they would be allowing very poor trade in values against the new car and did say they expected a few f10 owners to be disappointed with what the cars were worth. This coupled with the new higher basic list price of the 520d meant the price to change has gone up a lot. They basically blamed the sterling value and the rise of imports as well.
A friend of mine bought a pre reg 520dse last August with no mileage on it for 12k below list price from a BMW dealer. These type of deals which I hadn't heard of in Ireland before also instantly devalue the used cars.

I think the low trade ins is having some effect as Bmw are down 50% in sales In January compared to 2016 and not all of this can be attributed to g30 not being out yet.
Might be better to wait 6/12 months until the sheen has worn off the g30?[/QUOTE]
