Of course people can argue that a heavily modded 335i would take on the M3. While that might be true, the money spent on modding that 335 would end up costing about as much if not more than the M3 (it's especially true if you buy a used E9x M3).

If you put it this way, the premium price makes a little sense. However, the Cayman S is tempting at around $60K.................
