Months have come and gone and I forgot to update this thread. First, many of you will be disappointed to hear that I gave up on the American roach colony (for now) because they are too damn fast and they fly.
Now I'm breeding a larger, more nutritious species of hissing roach. Below are a few individuals and a freshly molted adult. I haven't eaten any yet because they are kind of cute, but preparations are already underway. I talked to a Mexican dude who knows how to cook grasshoppers and these should be similar, although the tough shell may be an issue. We'll see.
