In the UK the factory option was £170 whereas the retrofit parts are over £400 plus fitting, so it's a massive difference. I would therefore strongly recommend anyone thinking about ordering a Z4 gets this from the factory!
I mistakenly assumed it would be the same price to order as an accessory later on but sadly not. The main issue seems to be the roll hoops are different on cars with the wind deflector from the factory. |
Retrofitting anything on a car is almost always a pain in the ass and costs multiples of what it would cost if ordered with the car, so no surprises there. The surprise was the trim covers are actually different and that the M40i (from your signature) doesn't come with one, given that it comes standard as part on the M-Sport package.
