Same. It makes balancing the checkbook possible. So much harder to do when money is getting automatically pulled out right and left by some new-fangled "autopay" mumbo-jumbo. My wife thinks I'm nuts but I really like the organization and control of sitting down once a week to enter all the debit card receipts into the checkbook, cut the checks, and balance the register to the penny. Some folks are just wired that way I guess. |
I wrote a check 2 weeks ago. It had been 6 months since the last time I wrote one. The only bills not automated are ones where the payment can change and even then I do those electronically. Takes me about 3 minutes a month to pay bills. It's interesting you guys do it old school still.
