BMW stands by it's products.
Even though there well might be a few bugs in v. 1.0, I have NO doubt that they are not worth being concerned over. I bought a 530 (aluminum V8) back in the mid 90's. GREAT car, but they had a bunch of problems with the aluminum block. BMW's response: Give every 530 a 100,000 mile FULL drivetrain warentee. In late 2003 I leased a '03 745 and had a bunch of minor problems with the car and it spent more time at the dealer's than it should have. I told the dealer that I thought that the problems were unreasonable for a car that costs that much (no bit**ing or complaning, just a comment). BMW's response: They took the car back and gave me a brand new '04 equally equiped!
