Thanks for the video that was really informative but I didn't see how this is an improvement. Are the 4 screws that go into the holes what holds it in place?
Thanks for the time lapse OP and setting expectations on how intrusive and involved this job is.

Looking at pictures on their site, the holes in the crank can get pretty close to the edge. But, I suppose the load is along the radial edges of the holes so less of a risk of chipping the super thin wall of the crank and ingesting metal.
