Not sure what anyone think would happen. Worn out hard tyres vs. fresher soft tyres. The driver of Max's caliber is going pass even someone like Hamilton. There was no way HAM was going to defend that maybe if they were in equal tyres. I think that's the biggest takeaway from me.
For the sport, I agree with ending it with a race and not a safety car. But when one team completely essentially walked the other and essentially had no answer for pace, and then you make the decision for one lap? It was only going to end one way.
