With CAFE standards so high we all should feel lucky that the V8 stays around. New engine means at least 6-7 more years with a V8 in the brand. The next gen M3/4 will definitely be a hybrid as well.
A Touring is not a definite as yet as the M3 Touring response will dictate overall decision on an M5 variant.
The Touring like previous Touring's are not likely to be offered in North America either.
