Its actually the gap around the headlight which apparently is to narrow and could cause the paint to rub off, mine is on the recall as well.

BMW AG have initiated a Technical Campaign for affected U11 series vehicles due to a possible
alignment issue with the front light combination units, contact can occur between the lamp assembly
