For us old school who were in high school in the 70s it is a disappointment, M meant motorsport. The 2 most important things back then smelled of perfumes and car fumes. For the new kids with no knowledge of history it just means cool, M stands for marketing.
But you're correct, it's just an automobile. Sad but true.
