I agree, I think people are unaware of BMWs firm ride but sharp handling or have unrealistic ideas of how a smaller lower riding SUV will behave. If you’re coming from another brand (with the exception of Audi which have similar suspension set ups but SUV wise handle less nimbly) then you should definitely test drive if you’re after a softer ride. BMWs were not called the ultimate driving machine for nothing
Whilst that doesn’t really reder to their SUVs in quite the same way they still err to that side over outright comfort. I think the balance of comfort and handling great, but I don’t often encounter poor condition roads where I drive.
Lack of idrive and stop start are not an issue for me either, you adjust quickly if you’re willing to, and if you’re not willing to then…better get used to keeping an older car!
