I miss the 1980s and 1990s when cars had actually replaceable glass lenses for headlights.

My friend just got a nasty crack on his right headlight. He was about to just buy a headlight housing to replace it himself. He thought that there was no sense in filing an insurance claim on something that costs less than his $1000 deductible. WRONG! The parts dept quoted him $3,827 because housing was all one piece. He filed the claim and paid the $1000 deductible. GEICO process the claim the same day. (more than $4500 because of the bodyshop labor)
