I bought one of those water hazard ball retrievers just for that course, snagged several balls from cacti around the course. Didn't see any snakes but was glad to have it. Since then it's definitely paid for itself recovering wayward ProV1s and such.

Sorry, got busy last week and forgot to check back in - nah you should be fine in shorts / polo as far as I know.
