i dont know if even 1-2 championships in the short term makes this a good trade. They were close last year with Luka dragging the team to the finals on a bum knee.
Its not like they really got any assets in this trade that significantly improve their chances of landing more studs. They could have retooled the team around Luka and had a better shot in the short term and long term.
Luka has said publicly multiple times he wanted to be a lifer in dallas. Unless he completely falls off a cliff in a couple years, he still has at least 10 years of high level play. AD doesnt.
