Why do you want a financial advisor? There really isn't anything too complicated about managing money for yourself and you can probably learn the basics fairly quickly. If you don't educate yourself on investing and markets you'll be prey for any unethical advisor you run across who talks a good game.

Personally, I'd say get some books on value investing and find an accountant who can help you with minimizing taxes.
