Have I damaged my 335i engine?

Hello Guys,

May some of you think that I'm going nuts ,but a question is bothering my mind many days now...

The BMW user's manual advises to drive smoothly the car for the first 2000km. As I got my 335i on previous Friday and I got really excited during the first 1-2 days, I drove the car a "bit" faster than I should (according to manual) for 150-250 km. I didnt do any extreme fancy things just several kick-downs to enjoy the monstrous torque straight to my head ,as well driving to speeds close to 210 km.

(for your info the manual suggest to drive until 4500revs or/and 160KM )

Since then I'm driving like woman (slow and softly ) until i reach the first 2000-2500 KM.

For some reason I feel like the car became a bit slow and less "strong" because of my driving manners the first hours of its life. Could that be true or this is just my idea cause I'm getting used to it as long as i drive it??

Is it so important to drive cautiously on the beggining? Could it be possible for its performance to be reduced by that?

Thanks to those kind enough to answer me...
