Putting both steering and drive train thru the front tires is why they are wearing so fast. Couple that with 250 hp and torque and it's easy to see it happening.

As for AWD, the system is FWD virtually all the time. That's how it gets such good fuel economy. It only sends power to the rear when slip is detected. Which for most people is almost never
