Today did two journeys of 70 miles (140 miles in total). Did as suggested and connected to Android Auto using my smartphone (Samsung S23) by both bluetooth and wifi to the car. Usually, I would expect Android Auto to drop out at least twice each way on a journey of this length and time. First time I've ever had no connection problems whatsoever. Really pleased if this is the solution and not just a coincidence.
Prior to this, I just used a bluetooth connection. To be clear, my phone connected wirelessly.
