Because they are probably playing the long game. Why go all in on EV when they can still sell ICE and hybrids? While the demand in the US for EVs seems on fire, it is still nothing like in Europe.
Or, with the US being such a lawsuit-trigger place, they are waiting for the initial kinks to be ironed out before bringing it here.
