Market manipulation is a blanket term. What do you think he violated? I am seeing insider trading or whatever thrown around but I'm pretty sure that applies to individual equities and not the entire market...especially a tweet literally blasted out to the entire world.

I'm pretty sure every president has made similar claims on buying stocks. Trump is unfairly targeted and we have politicians like Pelosi making hundreds of millions actually committing illegal crimes.

I’m not in favor of whatever BS is going on right now in the US stock market, but since it’s out of my control now I’m looking at when is a good time to put some cash in to buy more stock / mutual fund shares. What’s done is done…I’ve lost a couple hundred grand over the past two weeks so that presumably some asshole billionaire criminals could benefit….but I may as well participate in the upswing when it happens so as to not continue sitting on my hands, right?

Luke warm take incoming, but I believe Trump is so often and easily targeted because he presents as someone that doesn’t really know what they’re doing, and can’t cohesively articulate anything about it, and then does it and, in this case, immediately causes millions of American citizens to lose years of retirement savings. It’s a bad look, and the targeting is fair.

What do you mean years of retirement savings? Not even counting the bounce today, the market was where it was at about a year ago. Who is forcing people with large 401(k)'s who are retiring to request distributions when there is this much volatility? What happened to personal responsibility?

What I mean is that the amount of value my portfolio lost in the past two weeks, as a direct result of the market gaming that is apparently happening, took me years to amass. I’m one example out of millions of Americans in the same situation.

The market is still up….way up…..from even two years ago. Did you lobby this same criticism then?
