Android Auto disconnect
Hello guys,
Sorry if this has been answered before, I keep searching but dont seem to find an answer I have an X2 2.0. I experience this issue with a Xiaomi Redmi 9 pro. I keep loosing androind auto connectivity when the phone looses signal and particularly when the phone looses data coverage. To make it even worse, it also happens when I receive or make a call cause the mobile carriers in my country cut data transmission during calls. I want to upgrade my phone but don't know if the problem will be fixed with a newer android device or I will have to transition to an Iphone. Is there a fix of any kind? (new phone or an update maybe?) |

Android Auto, to work properly, needs both a bluetooth and wifi connection (certainly for ID9). As far as I know, Apple Car Play does as well.
If your carrier cuts data during a call, then I'd expect to lose Android Auto as well as Apple Car Play so I doubt changing phones is going to help? I know Android Auto will work, for some, on just Bluetooth but typically will keep cutting out. Perhaps a word with the dealer might help? Surely other BMWs are affected in your area (not just X1 & X2s) and they might be able to advise whether Apple Car Play or an upgraded Android phone would help? |

If that is right, and assuming that AA on your phone is fully updated, then the problem is likely the car. You could re-try rebooting the head unit by holding the volume button down for 30 secs (it's explained on other threads on here and in the manual). If this doesn't work, a factory software reset might resolve this (only a dealer can do this, I believe). If this doesn't work, as in my case, a re-installation of the software is needed (again, dealer only). I hope you get this resolved? |
