Finalized my Frozen Portimato Blue HEA build
After deciding on Frozen Orange and then Canada getting it (but not the US) I went back and forth on colors for weeks before deciding on Frozen Portimao Blue. I'm not thrilled with the color. I would have taken Frozen Dark Grey or Frozen Orange over the blue but @ $3,600 it will be a relatively unique car to see on the road.
I have a Week 49 build so probably will take delivery in late January if it gets built around December 7th. Base G80 $69,900 X1E Frozen Portimao Blue Metallic $3,600 X3IA Silverstone/Black Extended Merino Leather $2,550 ZPK Parking Assistance Package $800 ZPK Executive Package $2,800 1MB M Drive Professional $900 1T8 826M Bicolor wheels $1,300 3M5 M Compound Brakes with Red Calipers NC 3MF Individual Shadowline Lights $300 48C M Carbon Bucket Seats $3,800 4MC Carbon Fiber Trim $950 71C M Carbon Exterior Package $4,700 Destination and Handling $995 Total Price $92,595

Awesome build, one challenge question... and this is based on 0 inside knowledge. If you knew frozen orange would be added with the completion of the full lineup in July would you wait? If it was introduced in March? If they unlock full individual builds in spring (meaning any color) Would you wait? If the answer is no to all then I think you will be happy with the choice. And an LCI 1.0 car for 2024 will come that much sooner.

What's driving me is not to be the first a**hole in NYC with a G8x. I'm just dying to get back into a 6MT after 18 months in my piece of sh*t DCT CS lol.

frankiebones Nice spec! The manual is the best part!! Have you considered the orange interior? I feel like that would look great with the blue.

But, is this really an HEA allocation? I’m surprised if so, since the HEA order guide only includes these options: https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1751088 Not that it matters - what counts is whether the ordering system accepted the request. I’m assuming you’ve got that confirmed, which means you are all set. Can’t wait to see pics of the car when it arrives. |

If the order bank kicks it back I'll do the same build with the first fully customizable allocation they get (presumably for a January build).

Why don't you order a Frozen Orange (in Canada), I'll order a Frozen Portimao Blue, and we can meet at the border and swap? BMWNA will be none the wiser.

Curious about some of the HEA options listed -- M Carbon Exterior, Shadowline lights, etc are not listed as HEA options in the stickied post @ https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1751088
I'm confused. You were able to add these options to an HEA build? Limited options was one of the reasons for me holding off on an HEA deal. If that's not the case... it's a game changer. |

Keep in mind they may roll them out all at the same time which means you may not get it when you think you will get it. if build weeks are all the way into jan HEA cars may not be released to dealers till March time frame. So just be aware that may happen and its a high possibility it will.
this is what happen with the current 4 series. They held them up at the ports. This is also what happened with the last Gen F8xM HEA cars also. Ours was at the port for a month.
