V12 VS PSS
So here I am, about to buy new tires and I just cant make a decision.. So I need you guys to help me choose. I have narrowed it down to Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 and Michelin Pilot Supersport tires. I will be running a 245 40 18 on the oem sport line wheels style 397 (18x8) whitch I have powdercoated gloss black. The Hankooks are 570$ for a set and the Michelin's are 770$ a set. I mainly drive very spiritedly (taking corners at the limit, accelerating hard), I dont do many track days but I do go on road rally's and carve canyons. I drive a lot so it's good that these tires are not expensive because I'll probably be replacing them in a year. Thanks for the feedback guys!!

i'd say just fork out for the michelin PSS. once you've bought it you're not going to remember the cost difference. when you are daily, spirited, or track driving you'll be on the best.
costco has'em for a good price ^^ |

I've used the Hankooks on both my Audi S5 and BMW F36. There is no doubt the PSS are great tires. To me, for daily driving with some spirited runs in between the Hankooks are more than adequate. For how I drive on the road and my driving ability the PSS are simply too much tire.

I ran several sets of the Hanooks on my A4. I really liked them for the price but they got loud in a relatively short period of time. I run PSS on my S4 and I think they're superior in every way. But they are more expensive. If you can afford it, go PSS. They're really great tires.

There is no need to get PSS. Unless you tracking your car. Ha looks or the Continetal Extreme contact DW are great for even the most aggressive street driving

If you want the best, buy the PSS.
If you want to comprise noise, ride, and handling for a lower cost there are plenty of alternatives. I love my PSS! It's a sad day when I pull them off for the winter.

I've been using Continental Extreme Contact DW for the past several years. Very good wear rating, great ride and handling, and moderately priced. Got these on both of our BMWs now.

There are lots of good options in middle, I thought the Hankooks I ran for years were a good value for the money but the PSS are just better in my experience.

Will Costco mount and balance a non-RFT tire for a car that came with stock RFTs?

They say otherwise:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268036 https://customerservice.costco.com/s...fromQuery=tire Also, they probably won't let you install a size outside of what is a stock option. Guess that means I won't be able to put on 255/40/18 all around. |

Exactly my opinion too. PSS didnt win the last tire test I read. Think it was third. Guys here worship them though.

They didn't want to on my E95 335 a couple years ago. They should be willing to do it now when I got the non runflats. Since the only difference is the repair kit, they may be more flexible for others, too - or possibly they won't sell tires for me either when I need new ones.
