Free radio display transparency film!
I went by Office Depot to get supplies for the radio display mod/fix. They only had transparency film in 100 packs. I'm tempted to use my one sheet and take the rest back but I'd rather just send the rest to others here. Once I have the shape figured out I can even send you a piece precut.
PM me the address and I'll mail you a piece, the stamp's on me! |

This is the write I did and the corners are still there and holding. Though I have knocked the film out a couple times while messing with the radio.
I wish it for me by just putting the film "inside" the radio display as it has for others... http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11361 There are a couple other threads on this too...one even was locked, heh! EDIT- You can also get one piece of film by going to many Office Depot/OfficeMax/Staples copy counters and buying a transparancy copy...with no copy. |

I went to the copy desk and they didn't have transparency film at the time so I stocked up for all of us I guess..lol.
Btw, the "fix" now shows me maybe why BMW did this. If the sun hit the "fixed" display from behind, the glare is pretty bad. Maybe this can be adjusted by realigning the "fix", I'll try someday I'm sure. Strange enough, the bottom display looks fine all the time. I'm an optometrist so I have tons of sunglasses. Polarized isn't as critical to me in my One as in my Porsche or on a boat. I do get minor windshield glare from behind the speedometer when the sun is in front and a little from the side window posts. Polarized shades help this but with all the stereo display problems, funny enough, I may actually vary leaving the fix in or out and varying my sunglasses. The film has stayed in fine for me without even cutting it very accurately yet. I bet it will be easy to just slip it in or out depending on the glare of the day. |
