The consensus is 50 / 50, half of our customers have opted for the oiled and the other half have opted for the dry.

That really doesn't help me choose. What is the main difference?

I personally use oiled always have - never had a problem. Oiled - has increased air flow = more mpg more hp.

Dry filter is for those who are worried that the increased Air Flow will mess up the MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) which some people have reported - this is due to the computer typically not being reset for the new added air flow. I hope that helps. As to the sales numbers its surprisingly a 50/50 with customers.

AFE has been having a hard time keeping them in-stock, finally more are arriving from them. Heh they didnt expect such a demand from the community That should push them to develop some sort of intake now I bet.

so for those thinking about going with the oiled, is it recommended to reset the ECU?

It is NOT required, but if the desire is there to do so then there is no harm.

I recommend doing it - I've always done so on all my cars. Seems to be better for the car the ECU adjusts quicker to the higher flow of air coming in. Personally I always have gone oiled with no problems.

The great thing about these filters is you'll never have to buy any more of those air filters either that the dealer is always trying to sell you every time you service the car.
