How Big Is The Diffrent
Hallo to all of you.i am from greece and my name is nikos.i had in my car m3e46 19inch with 225\40\19 and 255\35\19,before one week i put 20inch 245\30\20 and back 285\25\20,and i think that my car is not like before ,i dont have power i dont know.
can you tell me if i lose a lot of power with thiw wheels?thank you |

You definatly lost power. This is because of the added unsprung mass of the heavier wheels, and also the extra friction from the wider tires. The wider tires will help you get better traction, but they will slow you down at the higher speeds.

yes my friend ,the 20rims are very beautiful and this was the reason that i put them but before one week i raced with a boxter 987s and i had a very big problem.i think that i must take it out.

Well, the other solution is to get more power out of the engine to make up for the added weight and friction. The old american saying "If you have too much power, you need wider tires. If your tires are too wide, you need more power!"
Could you post some pictures of the M3? |

if you want get into my garage and see it,here in greece the after market parts for increase the horse power are too expensive than in U.S.
