Legends of the Autobahn Gallery, Monterey Car Week, 2014

Legends of the Autobahn is a “Celebration of German Automotive Engineering” concours for the BMWCCA, M-BCA, and Audi Club NA. Motorsport is the theme of this year’s concours and BMW showed up in full force with their BMW.Williams FW22 Formula One car, the 1999 Sebring-winning BMW V-12 LMR prototype, the BMW M5 IMSA Bridgestone Supercar Champion, the 1975 Sebring-winning BMW 3.0 CSL racer, the BMW M1 IMSA Group 4 racer, 2015 BMW M5 30th Anniversary Edition, E28 M5, F82 M3, and i8.

Michelin is ///Motorsport, as the OEM tire supplier on all five generations of the BMW M3, Michelin celebrated by having all five generations of the M3 on display, 2015 F80 Alpine White, 2012 E92 Fire Orange, 2006 E46 Titanium Silver, 1998 E36 Dakar Yellow, and 1988 E30 Hellrot Red, the latter four of which are all owned by BMWCCA members.

This year’s Legends was held at the Nicklaus Club in Monterey, California right next to Laguna Seca Raceway as a part of Monterey Car Week. This was my first time attending this event and it was a great time. I did not participate in any judged classes, but it was an honor and a privilege to be a part of Michelin’s M3 Display. I will be attending this event again next year and might even participate in a judged class.
