EBC Redstuff or Isweep IS1500s?

I have a '22 G80 M3 base and like most owners, am not fond of the brake dust. Going to swap the pads for either EBC Reds or Isweep IS1500s. The Isweeps are almost 2x the price, but are they worth it? Any insights comparing the 2 would be appreciated.

Garage List
2022 M4 C  [0.00]
Currently shows 3/20. I’ve been tracking this for a while and the date for the front brakes has continually been moving to the right. Carbotech is the other option but I believe some users had issue with those. So I’m awaiting either the EBC or revised Carbotech.

Does Akebono make G80 pads? Those were my go-to for less-dust on all prior BMWs.

After reading through many posts here I went with the iSweep IS1500. My decision was based on reviews that talked about feel vs OEM and reduction of brake dust. Most reviews can be summarized to say that they feel like OEM and they have very low brake dust relative to OEM. Although the EBC had good reviews, the reviews for the iSweep just made me think that the reviewers were happier with them.

They were just installed yesterday so I don't have a long term review for you, but so far they pretty much feel like OEM. It was raining on the way home after the install and they felt a little "slippery" until they warmed up (the OEMs did the same thing for the first couple of miles after a car wash), but today without rain they felt just like the old pads under normal braking conditions. We'll see about the brake dust after the next wash.

Perhaps a dumb question on my part: with brake-by-wire, does the system sense ?what? and feedback ?something? to the brake pedal. In other words, what do we mean by "feel" with a BBW system. Is it capable of sensing and transmitting the subtle variations you might have between pads/compounds?

There have been a few threads discussing pads and specifically the availability of the reds including this one below that I've been a part of. Most of the sites say that the red fronts are available but in reality, aren't when you contact them.

https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1987857

I have an order in since January for the reds through Extreme and just contacted them for an update and it's still showing an eta of April 9th. The dates keep changing so we'll see. I want this to happen because the Isweeps are expensive for pads and have seen people with certain issues with the Carbotechs. In the end if the April date doesn't happen I am moving on to something else.

I guess for me "feel" is how much braking do I feel (i.e., how quickly does the car decelerate and what does my butt-accelerometer sense) vs how much force am I applying to the brake pedal. When I say it feels "slippery" when I first drove the car after the install in the rain, that's to say given the same amount of input I "feel" much less braking under light pedal pressure versus when the brakes and pads are warmed up.

With that said, I do not feel that I have that direct pedal feedback that I would feel with hydraulic brakes.

When did you speak with them? I called them last month and they were hoping April. That has also been confirmed from Extreme where I ordered mine from.

Same - Extreme emailed saying they'd be shipping on April 9th.
