Canada Pricing?
The 3 series starts at around 43K. I'm wondering how they are going to slot the pricing in. The 335i is around 47K and up.
I'm guessing the 1 will be starting 35K and up with the 135i around 45k fully loaded. |

Spoke to the local dealer the other day. The info he has says the 135i will start at close to 40k. There shouldnt be may options other then NAV I suspect. Less then 45k is a sweet preice considering I paid more then that for my A3 3.2. Lets hope that have some good lease/finance deals (doubt it)

Even though it has a smaller engine, I think BMW Canada is going to have to be careful with the pricing of the 1 in regard to the 323i which starts at 35,600. I can't see them going much higher than that. I'd think it'd be smarter to put it in the low 30's (32-33) if they're smart. Our dollar is really strong right now, and it's a short trip south to the USA if we want a 128i for 27-28 as expected.

Is your buying decision based on the size of the car? It is a 300hp BMW for ~8k less then a Subaru STI. If you are lookimg for a people hauler this is not the car for you. Dont know where else you will get the type of package the 135 offers without spending quite a bit more. |

If the 135i undercuts the STI by 8k then there is no competition for me. That price difference gives me guilt free LSD/exhaust/tune. (yes in that order) The Subaru had better have 8k worth in better performance. Each day I'm losing more faith in the Subaru... Guess I'll find out in September.

Hey Guys,
This is my FIRST POST EVER, but I'd like to throw my 2 cents in the mix... 328i coupe starts at $43,600 328i sedan at $41,000 The 135 HAS TO BE cheaper... a) the 3-series sedan is BMW's bread and butter - Don't put a more powerful car in that price range... that's like biting hand that feeds. b) the 3-series coupe is much nicer, let's be honest. Price the 135 too high, and it simply won't sell. No one in their right mind would pick the 135 over the 328 coupe I'm expecting it to land around $35k $35k doesn't buy anything... barely a Jetta (I know, I know...) Might sneak out an A3, but you really gotta find a dumb-ass Audi dealer for that one I expect this car to find it's niche, similar to those who purchased the RSX Type S when it launched; not many people, but hey at least it doesn't look like the 318 (THAT was a total disaster) Just some thoughts... |

I read on these forums somewhere that they will actually increase the price of the 3 series a little bit to make room for price allotment for the 1 series. I still have an inclination the 135i fully loaded will be around 45K. Please surprise me BMW lol. |

Local dealer say the 135i will have a 40k starting point and fully optioned out to be a shade under 45k. This is right where it should be imo.
Now I have to unload my A3. |

Unkown.... :iono:
But, if the 135i was $43-45, then I would guess the 128 @ $36-38

I am seriously thinking, if the price is around that, of buying mine from the states. I am fedup of always paying more for the same thing and + dont forget the taxes also of 14,5% for Quebec. So basically a 128i with one or two options total price would be close to 45-50k.
Also I dont know if you guys have noticed but we pay for the same options much more than the states. Its really frustrating! |

LEt's just hope that the Cdn dollar holds it's current strength and value. ***edt http://www.riv.ca/english/US_vehicle_admissibility.pdf Found link outlining which cars and general procedure for importing car from the US to Canada. It seems pretty basic to me and not that difficult. You have to pay a toll of around 200 dollars at the border, that's it. This might seem like a good option. What about buying the vehicle in the US? Do u have to be a citizen? Or can you just walk in with a briefcase full of unmarked bills? lol. For those Calgary people, the best place in Montana to buy a BMW would probably be Great Falls. I checked out the driving distance and time...Drive:508 km – about 5 hours 15 mins 508 km – about 5 hours 15 mins Not bad at all. Get someone to drive with you down there. Pick up the car and drive back up. You'd be only burning 500kms which isn't bad at all. I don't think u have to break in the engine but if you want to you can still varry your speed on the highway when no one is around or even stop by gas stations etc. I'll definitely be considering this. Do US BMWs have DRLs? |

Scrap that Montana idea BEEP, there are no BMW dealerships in Montana! WTF! The closest one now is either Idaho Falls or Seattle. Both at around 1000 km drive. Since there is only one BMW dealership in Seattle I'll have no bargaining power. In Calgary, there are at least 3 dealerships.
Is it worth the hassle? |

See here for my comments in importing for US: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=6236#post6236
I also bet the Canada will be getting something lower then the 128. Probably 123... priced at $30k |

I was actually shocked to findout that there are no dealerships in montana. I figured that there would be at least one dealership in every major city in the US. Yeah, 1000 km is a real toss up. I guess when we get back to Calgary, we don't need to break in our cars anymore etc (if that's even necessary).:iono:

Obviously the more expensive the car the bigger the differential... try pricing a P car. :eyebulge::eyebulge: I'll certainly look at it when it comes time to pull the trigger. Bonus for me is I'm only 1.5hr from a US dealer for warranty.
