Bmw X1 2.0 I towing

Have a 2017 2.0i that I intend to tow with this year. The towbar fitted with dedicated wire harness does not power pin 9 which is required for the ATC on the Al-co tow hitch. Now the car has dynamic stability control which reads this is to help with the prevention of trailer snaking. Advice would you bother with the vans stability control or just let the car sort the job. It's booked in for the extra power wire. Any advice from X1 towers would be great.
