Cruise Control
Many likely already know about this; when setting the cruise control, pushing the little lever just to “the first position,” the speed increments by one mph. If you push the lever past this position to the stop, the speed increments by 5 mph.
I discover new tidbits all the time with this car. ![]()

Good observation but that’s how most cruise controls work in many brands for 50 + years, really. It’s also written in the BMW manual.

None of my previous or current cars work like this BMW cruise control. And I thought I discovered something special.

And if you are on ACC or CC and by mistake press "SET" when you have your speed set to 60 and camera reads a 30 sign ... it will switch to 30 and slam on brakes

What I miss most about it is that it had a button on the wheel to change the follow distance. My husband’s M340i has that button on the wheel, but the X1/X2’s is buried in the menu. I think I set up a shortcut for it on the day I bought the car. Granted I don’t change it that often, but I do like being able to change it on the fly as needed. |

Yes my 2019 Acura RDX has the button in the steering wheel to change the following distance. It’s a better/convenient & logical place than where BMW buried it.

Yeah, we do. That’s why I decided to go with the X2 M35i because I liked it the most of the SUV options. If I had let my heart win out and not been practical, I probably would have bought an M240i. 😂

I used to have the control on the steering wheel in my 330e, but the only times I ever adjusted it were by accident! |

I don’t change the distance control that often. Typically it’s at 2 bars out of 4, midway. Sometimes I’ll move to 3, which will add about another car length.
I wonder if the personal assistant would be able to adjust it rather than going through the ID9. |

I happen to think the new x2 is one of the best designs though- if the x2 were allowed the 6 cylinder it would be a heck of a rocket.
