Serious Collision on DVP North, Bloor Viaducts. Expected to open around 9:30-10:00am
June 17 2012
Me and Ultran00b decided to go on some adventures tonight. This is only part 1 of a two part adventure. We were heading down DVP south and stumbled across this major/serious accident on Northbound DVP near southbound bloor/bayview exit. We exited at bloor/bayview and took bayview north. We ended up taking some side streets to get directly underneath the accident. I parked behind CityTV’s news truck. We got our equipment setup which only comprised of a MTO yellow safety vest and an orange safety vest. We didn’t have our photography equipment with us so we had to make due with memory and our eyes. Ok so here’s what happened based on car position and witness statements: A S500 Mercedes Benz cut across lane 1 (far most left lane) and into lane 2, hitting a Volkswagen (model unidentifiable because of damage). The s500 fought to regain control but to no avail and spun out twice and bounced once off the guard rail destroying the front end and injuring all occupants within the vehicle. The Volkswagen got clipped and spun into the guard rail with the rear end first and destroyed the rear compartment and spread the contents of the trunk onto the grassy fields of the guard rail and littered the highway. The Volkswagen then proceeded to hit the wall on the other side of the DVP thus crossing DVP northbound lanes twice. The two occupants were injured in the accident. The driver of the S500 fled and is currently being sought by the police. K9 units were in the area trying to pick up a scent of the driver to no avail. The occupants of the Volkswagen are in serious but stable condition. Whereas one of the occupants is in serious but stable and the other just bumped up to critical. This passenger suffered severe head trauma. Their head hit the right rear passenger window. The DVP is expected to be closed till 10:00am as accident reconstructive teams finish their investigation. Below are pictures of the accident in no particular order. I am the only person other than the police who was able to get such close up's of the vehicles. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Below is where one of the rear passenger's hit their head. This is the reason why they are in critical: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by dynamicvapor; 06-17-2012 at 05:48 PM.. |

Looks like a Jetta?
If the limit on the DVP is 90km/h, then the 401 should be at least 120km/h. The problem with the DVP is that most people go above 90 (if traffic moves well), and with the change in elevations and curves, there is not much room for error if traffic is heavy and nowhere to escape if something happens. |

1) It's pretty clear that's a VW Jetta. It's far from being "unidentifiable due to the damage."
2) You sure love posting videos from your dash cam. This is the 4th thread (not including double posts) that you've made.

why the fuck are there 15+ squad cars and a couple firetrucks with a 100ft ladder on scene?
Seems a bit excessive for the pictured cars. I feel like if this happened in LA or something they would had just used their squad cars to push the cars to the side and let traffic by after a bit of sweeping. Canada, eh? |
