Is the car on the right the G20 3 Series? If so, it looks smaller than the F30
Is that the upcoming 3 series on the RHS? Looks smaller than the F series. Understand that that's an F80 on the LHS so a bit bulkier than a normal 3 but it would be nice if the car shrunk a bit in next gen

Haha, 3ers will never shrink. They'll be the size of an F01 in a generation or two. I'd kill for an E36 or even E46 sized, rwd sedan.

best you will get is an 1er in xdrive (hopefully) Im really hoping they give the US a 1er msport xdrive with a turbo 4 that gets close to 40mpg on the highway. that would be a nice e36/e46 replacement

Granted. I did love the size and feedback in the wheel and handling like it was on rails and feeling pretty fast for 189 hp. (Had a 325xi) but the problems were too much. My e90 was perfect and didn't experience really any issues and the f30 is even better. While it may have lost some driving dynamics, it makes up for it in reliability.

Hard to tell when one is camo’d and the other not, but no, sadly the G20 will grow by up to 4 inches. Real shame BMW dont do a compact RWD 4 door any more (even tho the 3 is often described by the press as a small executive sedan)

I think it’s just because the F80 is parked at an angle, so you can see more of it than just the rear end.

Unfortunately it will be FWD, and have the new non-logic and plastic sounding steering column. Not good at all!
Give us 2GC with RWD and the "automatic" steering column (that Tesla just copied BMW), then we have a winner!!

You're kidding, right? A 4-door 2 series. I thought that was the whole point of differentiating the 3 from the 2-series.

I have an m3 competition and i have just picked up an m2 competition.
Drove them back to back today. M2 is so much nicer to drive. The m3 is just to big. Bigger cars kills fun in driving! If the new 3 series is bigger again it s more boring then ever! The best sized M car is the 1m coupe and E30 M3! Everything bigger is a waste of alu and steel. |

Dude.. comparing a regular G20 with F80 M3? M3 always has a wider stance and looks longer in comparison. It looks more menacing on the road.
