F10 M5 brake pads/track abuse...
So after two back to back track day weekends my rear brake pads were toast see pics, so I needed pads to keep the car going, lots of research here is the good news,
For the rear at least I can confirm that the M5 non competition F10 chassis rear pads will fit on the M3 non Carbon Ceramics. As a bonus you can pick a cheap set to get you going for $40.00 and with lifetime warranty. On another note it seems that no matter if you do have DSC AND MDM off the rear brakes still seem to actuate in certain conditions. I have never gone through a set of pads that fast, the car only has 3880 miles. Anyway thought I shared the information, cheers btw the track days were at Road America and Blackhawk farms. |

That rear brake pad is teeny tiny for a performance car application, which is probably why you're burning through them so fast.
We should probably merge this thread with the "rear caliper is an embarrassment" thread. If you're going to track the car a lot, you'd be wise to consider a endurance-oriented racing pad like the Pagid RSL29, which will last a lot longer. Given that Pagid is the OEM pad manufacturer, they almost certainly have some racing friction materials available in this shape. Edit: of course they do: https://www.pagidracing.com/en/produ...hape-4932.html Last edited by Floridagator; 05-02-2021 at 06:54 PM.. Reason: Added Pagid link |
