Current Build Restrictions - What are you losing?
Due to the chip shortages different markets seem to lose different functions. My SA just informed today that lumbar delete includes basically a full passenger-seat build restriction so I am losing:
* Passenger Lumbar * Passenger Memory * Passenger Massage * Passenger Side Bolster Adjustment (maybe) Boggles my mind that I can still get seat heating and ventilation but not something as simple as lumbar support.

For a $60-70k car that might be tolerable to get the line moving and sell cars - we've become used to it on our X5s and X6s. For a $100k-plus NEW model with NEW tech; that BMW is trying to hype to NEW markets, and compete with equivalent brands WITHOUT deletes (when it could obviously be solved by building one less driver's seat and extending production time), good luck with that. Although I understand BMW's calculus - "It won't piss off single drivers, and maybe that's more than half the market." They may perhaps be mistaken....

Yeah, we actually use lumbar and massage quite a bit on our current cars for both front seats. I know it's not a necessity but let's face it, nothing about this car is a necessity. However, a lot of it is about luxury. So why spend spend $100k+ on a car without the nice little things that we usually expect to have in a $100k+ car.
Hopefully by the time my iX order actually gets an allocation later this year, supply chain issues will improve and this feature makes a return to the builds. But because of this, I will have to slide the iX down to #2 on my short list and the Taycan 4S Cross Turismo takes the the top spot once again. Taycan doesn't have soft close doors but it has everything else I want in spades and frankly I'd much rather have lumbar and massage seats instead of soft close doors. First world probs...

I'm in Canada and my Dealer says there isn't any deleted equipment due to chip issues. My build isn't until May, though, so I guess I'll have to wait and see. Where are people with equipment deletions located?

I’d be really surprised if that’s the case since basically no market is escaping the build restrictions.
