M-Performance Coilovers
BMW's website shows that there is a coilover suspension for the G87 M2, but my local shops seem to think the website is wrong and the one they show is for the F8X cars and won't fit. When I went to my local BMW parts department and asked them to type in 2024 M2, they came up with the coilovers with the same part number as the ones made for the F8x cars. I even got an official quote on their invoice showing a 2024 M2.
I want to buy the M-Performance kit, but none of my local tuner shops will order that part because they all think it will not work with the G87. Anybody here knows a little more? Thank you.

There is a thread on it here:
https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1989806 The part number is 31-30-5-A2D-979 It's a height adjustable spring kit that uses the stock dampers. It's a rebranded KW HAS kit from my understanding. |

Correct. There is not an MP coilover kit available for the G87 at this time. If you want a full coilover kit you will need to go aftermarket and also get an EDC cancellation kit. I do not believe there is an aftermarket coilover kit available that functions with the stock BMW EDC. Please verify that though.

Its not rebranded and that is not coilovers. KW makes the OEM M Performance Suspension kist (HAS and coilovers) for BMW (and other manufacturers). M Performance Suspension aka HAS are adjustable lowering springs, very much different than coilovers. I do not believe the M Performance coilovers are available at this time. |

I googled some different set of coilovers (without electronic ajustable shocks) plus height-adjustable springs (here you can still switch on the button). For my understanding the electronic damper setting is deactivated with the KW Stuff, if you don't take the HAS. But maybe Tractive Suspension (https://tractivesuspension.com/produ...ry/automotive/) will make some electronic adjustable shocks for G87 M2? https://blog-int.kwautomotive.net/bm...ts-g87-stance/ |

Spoke with H&R rep today via email. He told me they just came out with a dedicated G87 Sports Spring. these lower approximately 1.2” Front & .75” Rear. He also told me these perform and feel better than their HAS.
I'm awaiting on pictures with these on but I have a feeling this is where I am leaning towards until more companies come out with dedicated full suspension systems. |

If all goes well, I will probably end up ordering in a few weeks while I await delivery of MY24 in Oct. |

This is something I'm definitely interested in. Never wanted HAS, done coilovers before and the height adjustment is useless for me. Set and forget, save 50% on the cost, better performance, lower risk... Hope it works out well, just curious about more technical details before pulling the trigger. |

Okay so he emailed me back: "The Sport Springs come with replacement front bump stops, otherwise it is a straight forward spring swap." H&R Sports Springs (G87 Specific) Part number 28616-7 1.2” Front & .75” Rear Price: $699.00 for the kit. In all honesty, at the price this is at and the H&R Springs reputation this is a no brainer buy for me. Worst comes to worst I can just swap back without any issues and eat the cost. Hopefully these work out! They just released them a few weeks ago I was told. No reviews on them yet, unfortunately. Maybe we will be the first |

At that point AST HAS is a better value. |

Plus, H&R's HAS is listed as $1,600, so $700 is less than 1/2 of the price of the HAS from the same brand. How much should they be charging for them? |

$875 for the adjustable lowering springs. AST springs for $370. H&R springs for the F8X are $329 on IND so not sure why the insane price bump. https://x-ph.com/ast-lowering-spring...saAmgcEALw_wcB |

Yeah, maybe it’s inflation? It’s money but comparatively it seems like a good deal. I mean, I paid less than what they’re asking for HAS on KW Coilovers years ago; granted, non-M, I expect things cost a bit more with M cars due to complexity, materials, but, most importantly, because of how few they make. |
