Dyno of European m135 and what that means for us
2025 m135 saloon, European model only.
Compared to our X1/X2 m35i: Same engine, same platform, same transmission. Our X2 is 6 inches longer. The quad tailpipes on our X2 are 6 inches longer as they are on the m135. They also don't put the "i" on the end, just as they've started to do so elsewhere. Anyway, I digress... Additional emissions equipment and some presumed detuning result in a 296hp rating from the factory for this European equivalent equivalent. Best Dyno pull was 286hp and 299 torque. That's 318hp at the crank. Simple comparison suggests this Euro model is 20hp underrated from the factory. If we presume to apply similar math for our 312hp model, we could be sitting at 330-334hp at the crank. Anyway. Just food for thought, just for fun. Armchair science. https://www.bmwblog.com/2025/03/06/2...135-dyno-test/ |

it would be interesting to see side by side like-for-like comparisons (Euro vs US or anywhere that has same advertised spec) to know if the detune difference is true or maybe it is indeed the same and simply stated differently for some other regulation or classification?
